There is a difference between Pride and being proud. It is one thing to be proud of an accomplishment, overcoming a struggle, or even to be proud of someone else's accomplishment, like a child or a student. The type of PRIDE that causes a problem is the one that promotes itself over and in the face of the almighty. When it smacks of indifference or steps on His mandates and laws.
It is God who provides every single thing, from the conceptual & ethereal to the physical & tangible. God created, birthed and supports us, the whole entire world and everything that has ever come to be. So, when we really take inventory of our blessings, our abilities, our efforts, it is highly fitting to remember and acknowledge He whom has made it all possible.
Noah's ARK was an impressive thing, no doubt. BUT it was God who designed the blueprint, gave the order, issued the permit and supported the growth of the trees from seed to sapling. Noah didn't think all that highly of himself and the only ones who paid any attention to him were his family and the animals that obeyed God's shewing.
We are but mere copies of His greatness, we embody some attributes as we have been made in His image but all of the credit goes to the Almighty! The problem arises when we forget to give Him credit or we seek to puff ourselves up, haughtily against or in opposition to Him.
How would we feel, in society, if murders, rapists and pedophiles desired equal expression for their bent?! The Bible says Pride cometh before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). We ought to tread cautiously on what we observe, what we admire and what we aspire to. It says "Live and let live" not Live and celebrate every evil notion. Yeah, it is an exaggeration, but in all honesty, sin is sin, in God's eyes it's all very heinous.
If you haven't noticed or observed it, even though God has equipped us to do marvelous things, one can very easily be dropped low, and quite quickly. Just as swiftly, one can also be promoted. Learning to be content no matter what your current status is. Readily offering thanks in season and out. This is the "PROUD" we make God of us, which He is more likely to Bless us through.
Heavenly Father, I pray and plead the blood of the Lamb protection over me and mine and over all who read this. Give them ears to hear and eyes to see, let the Holy Spirit understanding and discernment yield a gentle and contrite outlook. Give us the wisdom and courage to remain humble and to seek Your promotion over our own! Let us readily give You Glory where glory is due. That being always and in all ways attributes to YOU! Thankful Lord are Your children, as we see Your hand in every blessing and there to re-arrange every bad thing that befalls us! In Jesus Mighty name we are salvaged and sanctified. Amen & AMEN!
