The Lord prepareth a table 9/21/15

Sometimes, scripture reveals itself to us, layer by layer, through exposure, experience and exhibition.

Psalm 23:5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

Every Christian has a walk down the humbling path of betrayal, beguile and bewilder. We often find ourselves trying to understand and grasp the absurdity of others actions. Many times, it's simply the obvious contrast we pose. Where light is, there can be no darkness. We are at enmity with the world and those who crave it, worship it and/or covet it. Our presence in their lives is either a painful reminder or troublesome realization. For whatever reason, I heard it once said and I adopted this phillosphy. Live your life as TESTIFIER of Christ. Be a witness to someone or a witness against them. It is not we who judge, it will be the one who set the foundations of this world in order. Our job is to surrender the vital information its their job, as to what they do with it.

I am just now, after many, many years experiencing a snack at 'that' table. The table prepared for me (in the presence of). I am reminded of something my Mother once shared with my brothers and I growing up. She told us and warned us, she said; "Never take revenge", trust God! Allow Him, to do what He has to, to correct the situation as well as the person(s) in whatever way He sees fit. She added, if you do that, surrendering all involvement any further, one day, you will get to see the flip side. The tables will be turned, they will get their come-upins or some other scenario will come into play, 'you'll get the apology', 'the truth will come forward' or 'some other thing will make itself apparent' (where you will know, that it all had to happen, exactly as it did). As a child, I have to say, this was a hard pill to swallow. It sounded right, and we trusted her wisdom as well as slightly admired her goodness but skeptical, yes, perhaps a lot. We were also reminded not to gloat. She explained why it was not good to take satisfaction in someone else's folly.

The 'word', 'those experiences' and 'the inevitable down the roads' have proven, exactly that. Layers of confirmations unfold, parallels and happenstances. I have learned that God has a unique signature, He knows how our minds process things, how our memories play into a thing. He has a sense of irony as we do. He knows exactly how to set something in motion for you, where you will know precisely how, why and where your help comes from.

Here is another small glimpse behind the curtain. Ever get a glimpse of someone, seemingly living it up, lavish surroundings, eating, drinking, making merry?! Without an apparent care in the world. What if the banquet they are feasting at,all the while is yours?! What if the fancy table they are supping at, actually is part of your heavenly estate?! The word says that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just. We have no need for earthly treasure in the same sense that they do. They find security in it and calamity too. We find responsibility, service and gratitude. Tools are meant to be used, that's all it is. We have a generous and Loving Father above who has the best , fully equipped storehouse at our disposal. Most of our lives is spent learning lessons around that stewardship. Once you get it, the keys get handed over and all access is given. Responsibility and reverence keeps us in check. Purpose, plan and passion fuel our projects.

What feast will you prepare? Whom will you invite? Who is already dining at your table? Serve the best meat, spiritually and physically. What meal would be complete without the gravy?! Yes, God will supply that as well. As the scripture says, He causeth our cups to runneth over.

Psalm 121:2
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

Proverbs 13:22
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

The truth is established in righteousness 9/14/15

I had the occasion to catch up with a friend whom I met several years ago while on a business trip. He was sharing with me how he happened upon a discussion, between a group of so-called believers. They were discussing the "legitimacy" of a well know evangelist and public speaker. A woman who is become a bit of an "I'm for God" celebrity and christian life coach. I personally, have no bad opinion of her, due to the fact that I have limited exposure to her teachings. From everything that I have seen and heard, I never walked away thinking anything wrong, Nothing struck me as off or not in touch with Gods truth.

I believe that anybody who is serving the Lord, speaking His truth, is a target for someone to accuse them. After all, that's what the enemy does best. The enemy is the accuser of the brethren and uses tactics such as nit picking, dissecting words and symantics. We are under the spirit of the law not the letter. The letter of the law makes room for humility and correction, the letter of the law seeks a default blanket approach that condemns with technicality. If salvation was to hang on the Letter of the Law we would all be cooked. Right out of the gate we were already under the generational bloodline curse of sin. It was the spirit of the Law that came to bring us salvation through bloodshed of Jesus Christ and His all encompassing atonement for the human bloodline.

This friend mentioned to me how he was immediately attacked for expressing an opinion. He was merely attempting to enlighten these folks that their commentary and method was not only sinful but irrelevant to what their complaint was. Yes, they proceeded to insult him, mock him and laugh. All the while these are supposed to be Christians, "warning others of wolves"...as their fangs dripped with seething saliva! Truly reprehensible behavior. Naturally, as I say this, I ask that you pray for them, that they would be released from their belligerence, anger, hostility and other similar behaviors. We need to pray for those who are being used by the enemy, especially those who are convinced that they are in the right, doing Gods work. The weapons of righteousness are patience, long suffering, admonishment, prayer and honesty. The weapons of the enemy are hostile, insulting & belittling.

I could totally appreciate my friends concern. For one, he wasn't offended by what they said to him because he could see right through the smokescreen of Satan's devices. He also mentioned to me that He knew that he would be attacked when he formed the thoughts of what to say & when he said it. Mostly because he carefully admonished them and made sure to address the issue, stating that people who are in positions of public influence need to be prayed for, especially if they are not walking in truth! Well, they weren't having it. It was open season and they went for the jugular. What he said to them was meant to deflate the dark spirit they were being influenced by whereas their comments to him were meant to provoke human anger.

When you try the spirits the truth establishes itself in righteousness and the lie gives itself away.
These are the times we are facing and we need to be aware. If God leads you to discernment of something, be grateful and steer clear of the rocky terrain. PROVERBS 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Do not let the enemy drag you into the ring where mud can be slung and punches are thrown. Essentially, if you do, you may win the battle but loose the war!

The enemy seeks to use unresolved anger to promote or provoke more sin;  gossip, slander, strife, murmuring & violence. It is a devise he uses to create divisions within the Kingdom of believers, the body of Christ.

1 John 4:1-5
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

Ephesians 4:26-27
Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity.

Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you

Philippians 4:2-3

I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. 3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Revelation 12:10
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Happy Labor Day 9/7/15

 8 Biblical Principles of Work

by James Eckman

Ref link: http://www.crosswalk.com/faith/spiritual-life/labor-day-the-ethics-of-work-559342.html

1) Work is ordained by God. It was His creative invention from the beginning. The Bible declares that God worked (Genesis 1). By working we resemble God. Like God, you have the ability to work, make plans, implement them, and be creative. Additionally, God gave us the task of ruling over and taking care of His creation (Gen. Genesis 1:28, Genesis 2:15).

2) Work is for a lifetime. By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground (Genesis 3:19). God intends that humans are to work as long as they live. Meaningful activity plays a critical role in being a human being - whether paid or volunteer. The magical age of 65 shouldn't end meaningful, purposeful work.

3) Work is not a punishment. God did not create work as drudgery, but as a gift of fulfillment to life. A human being can do nothing better than...find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without Him, who can eat or find enjoyment (Ecclesiastes 2:24-25)?

4) Work has three purposes: to provide money or resources to supply the necessities of life; to provide for a quality of life in the satisfaction of doing a job well; and to serve God.

5) Work calls for obedience. Even when the boss isn't looking, a good worker is consistent and diligent to the task and loyal to the organization (Colossians 3:22). The real boss is Jesus Christ. See your job as service to Him - not simply your employer. Employers should treat employees with respect and fairness.

6) Work should be done with excellence. You are to render service, as to the Lord, and not to men (Ephesians 6:6-7); not to be men-pleasers but God-pleasers. God's standard of excellence needs to be the human standard.

7) Work is honorable. All professions and all kinds of work, assuming they are legal and biblically ethical, are honorable before the Lord. There is no dichotomy between sacred and secular work. All work brings glory to God and fulfillment to you, if it is done to God's glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).

8) Work provides an opportunity for witness. You manifest a powerful message, both verbal and nonverbal, of a supernatural approach to work. The world today needs this powerful witness to the reality of Christ and the difference that He makes in His followers. (Matthew 5:16)
