Wait on the Lord with COURAGE

I'm reminded of a time, years ago. I was fairly young and was being heavily pursued by a jealous ex-boyfriend. I found myself in the rather unfortunate position of being out and about with another young man on the local thoroughfair, when we stopped at a light, only to discover the forlorn, intense look on the driver next to us, who turned out to be my former date mate; a chase ensued, and the upshot of the story is, I was abandonned by the young man that I was in the car with. Having borrowed his fathers car, or atleast, that was the excuse I was later given.  (We didnt speak much at all after that, but I did need to get my purse back!) so, I found myself on the side of a major road, with no purse, no help and at the mercy of the situation, so thankfully, my common sense kicked in; I darted into a local establishment, explaining what was happening and asking to borrow the phone so that I could call one of my brothers! More than few of the patrons offered to protect me (in the meanwhile) I dont know about you, but once I made that call and knew he was on his way, I felt entirely confident that I would be ok, providing I stayed put and followed the directions we agreed upon.

He pulled up, I proceeded to leave the establishment; just as I exited I spotted the exboyfriend, casually camped out or 'laying in wait' was more like it. Few words were exchanged (as they were not needed) when the door to my brothers car swung open, I had a direct route, a hedge of protection and the confident, capable strapping man emanating a look of intense focus, making it very clear to this troublesome pest in my life that I was not to be messed with. I hopped in and made my escape!

So, here is where we need to glean a nugget. How much more so, Does Our Father in Heaven care for, come to the aid of and rescue His very own beloved?!

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
God has some very specific directions for us, for our welfare, (you can find them in the bible)! He cares and will come to your rescue, in the meanwhile, a deeper relationship with Him is all that is needed to impart to you the same level of confidence, so that You will know and can wait on the Lord with GREAT COURAGE!

Have a blessed week!

Press On 7-21-14

Have you ever felt as if the enemy is tryig to dissuade you, distract you, or keep you from persuing that which you know is your innevitable and assured future. You are called to be unshakable, immovable, settled in the spirit, with the fullest assurance of confidence
trusting that God is able to deliver you as well as Deliver to you, all that is required!

The enemy will try to distract you. How do we know this? Well, did he not attempt to do this to Jesus, he went so far as to tempt him when he was in the wilderness. Are we not in the wilderness, on a mission, strangers in a foreign land?! Yes, we are!

Just as Jesus did, we need to respond back with the words that Christ Did, the Holy Word of God. "…Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to me  for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men."(Matthew 16:23)"  It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."(Matthew 4:4) Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve."…(Matthew 4:10 ) We need to have the MIND of Christ, which He says he will give to us! All we need do is ask and receive! 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Dealing with the enemy?! Well dont forget, He is under our Authority, this was secured and issued to us by Jesus through His work on the cross. We should respond back with similar words that Jesus used to thwart and crush the enemy. We must be firmly fixed and deliver our promises to the spoken and the audible (afterall, the enemy is the prince of this air, BUT our heavenly father is the Alpha and the Omega, and Jesus, the KING of all, His word supercedes the air that might carry it)

We have to remember (as a dear Sister in Christ reminded me last night) we are actively enrolled in a battle here, we are soldiers for the LORD! Never forget you have a mission, a purpose and have everything you need (at your disposal) do not set your armour down. Bind the word of the Lord upon Your heart, they will be like arrows stored in your quiver!

Deuteronomy 11:18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
1 Peter 2:11-1211 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires,which wage war against your soul. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify Godon the day he visits us.
Psalm 127:5 Happy is the man that has his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

2 Timothy 2 English Standard Version (ESV)

A Good Soldier of Christ Jesus

You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men[a]who will be able to teach others also. Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound! 10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 The saying istrustworthy, for:
If we have died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him;
if we deny him, he also will deny us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful—
for he cannot deny himself.

What would you Pray if the Almighty acted on every word you Say? 714/14

What would you Pray if the Almighty acted on every word that you say?

If we ONLY fully comprehended the Power of Our prayers, perhaps it's the reason why the word
"pray" occurs 313 times in 306 verses in the KJV.

Is the Lord imploring us to pray? Yes, by all means. He tells us that we should bring EVERYTHING to Him in prayer and supplication. We all know what prayer means (to one degree or another) BUT are you clear about what supplication means? (see below)

I have had the incredible honor, pleasure and good fortune to have had a glimpse of the Hand of the Almighty! In spectacular display after spectacular display of Specific Answered Prayers!  When we come into a position of right standing with the Lord, we develop a bond of closeness where our petitions are heard, addressed and tended to. This increases our faith, encourages us to pray and to pray more effectively, specifically, more earnestly, for the welfare of others as well as ourselves!

Who is not familiar with the experience of maybe going to a parent with a request and being told, either; A. Well, I suppose we can arrange for that, you are doing good in school, you've got all of your chores done, etc etc. or B. Not so fast, you need to improve this or that, you haven't completed this or that, I understand you want this, but you have other responsibilities which must be met still.

I'm not suggesting that we can earn an answered prayer (after all, every prayer is answered perfectly, because God is able, true and worthy) BUT it is truthful to say that when we are in a position of obedience, we have direct access to the ear of the Almighty, He inclines His ear to our requests*. In all truthfulness, those who are righteous, who are obedient have learned HOW & WHAT pray! That is the point as to why God is more inclined.

* 1 Peter 3;12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
At any moment, the condition of your own heart and mind (if so aligned with the almighty) can implore Him to immediate and precise response! When we are indignant over an injustice, empathetic to a child who is sick, or desperate for an escape of immediate harm...God is a loving parent and will always do what is best based on EVERY possible outcome, result and obstacle. He takes things into account that we, with our limited understanding can not possibly comprehend and that's why, We just have to Trust Him, especially when its not clearly apparent why something had to happen the way that it did! You may never find out "WHY" until you get to heaven (and it just might be the reason that You do wind up in Heaven) its His domain and He works in Mysterious, wondrous ways!

Once we have established all the criteria; attitude, adversary, challenge, confidence, necessity, praise, source, etc.,  we can then tap into the POWER of Gods word, for our on benefit, as well as for others!

Phillipians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Have a Blessed week and DONT forget to pray!

Gods word on taking rest when needed!

Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 61:1 “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.”

Psalm 62:1-2 “My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”

Isaiah 40:28- 31 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Hebrews 4: 9-11 “Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”

Hebrews 4:16 “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
