Romans 6:14
14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

We simply can never qualify for Heaven under any means whatsoever, EXCEPT for that which has been done for us through the death of Christ and the adoption of faith in our confession to accept Him as our Saviour. In our natural state, we are hostile to the ways & laws of God. The sin (although not completely eliminated from our earthly life) is neutralized by His restitution on our behalf. Where sin might have had a strong hold on us before, we now have a help, a chance, a strength to overcome from the source of ALL. Even when we fall short, we fall under the blanket of Grace not condemnation.

We are united with Christ and under that Grace but we are also instructed on how to conduct ourselves in general while operating under that Grace. We are expected to stay away from those influences that we KNOW are a slippery slope. That Grace not only covers us but it also gentle nudges us in the direction of Holiness! The trappings of the old way of life simply have lost their appeal. The heart that's grafted in Christ now attains to seek an ultimate corrective path.

“Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?” (Rom. 6:14-15).

We know that every law has a penalty. If broken, the infraction has repercussions. In the law of God, the wages of sin is death. If one were to die while in sin or unrepentant prior sin, the inevitable truth would be eternal damnation, as nothing corrupt could ever escape God's perfect law. How terrible the ultimate end is for any who wind up facing the law without an advocate in Christ Jesus!

We are to be mindful of this, in our every day interactions with those in the world, mercy is needed, exhortation and guidance. When our efforts or words of direction to guide them toward Christ might fail short we can always pray. Most importantly OUR LIVING witness is the best calling card we could ever carry.

Abba Father, we thank you for the Grace that covers us, we seek to honour and glorify YOU, help us to remain steadfast in our confession and the manner in which we conduct ourselves. Help us to always surrender to Your perfect will which will never mislead us. When we rely upon ourselves and our own understanding, we always find something corrupt entangled with what we attempted to do. When we first seek your approval, that discretion becomes a safety zone that we may operate under with full confidence. Thank you Father for the provision of Grace, we offer you praise for your goodness and mercy!

Christ, however, offered one sacrifice for sins, an offering that is effective for ever, and then he sat down at the right-hand side of God. … 17And then he [God] says, “I will not remember their sins and evil deeds any longer.” So when these have been forgiven, an offering to take away sins is no longer needed.Hebrews 10:12, 17-18

“And from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (Jn. 1:16).

(Gal 3:9) So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

(Gal 3:10) For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

(Gal 3:11) But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
(Gal 3:12) And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

(Gal 3:13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

(Gal 3:14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

For the law possesses a shadow of the good things to come but not the reality itself, and is therefore completely unable, by the same sacrifices offered continually, year after year, to perfect those who come to worship.Hebrews 10:1

Thus the law had become our guardian until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. Galatians 3:24-25
