A word charged with so much power, a word with emphatic meaning.

Hebrew: אָמֵן,

The Hebrew word amen derives from the Hebrew verb ʼāmán, a primitive root. Grammarians frequently list ʼāmán under its three consonants (aleph-mem-nun), which are identical to those of ʼāmēn (note that the Hebrew letter א aleph originally represented a glottal stop sound, which functioned as a consonant in the morphology of Hebrew).[8] This triliteral root means to be firm, confirmed, reliable, faithful, have faith, believe. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen)

It's meaning: "SO BE IT";...it is commending the matter to God in suggestion as well as faithful belief. It is an act of reverence also;  we acknowledge God as the ultimate Judge and final Authority in the saying so! It is a word that is intrinsically connected to the source of all Truth!

The very first use of it was when a woman was accused of being unfaithful to her husband. She was subject to the test of "bitter waters", invoking the words "amen and amen" in the sight of God...if she was indeed guilty, she would be taken over by the ill effects of the water and would certainly perish. If she was innocent, she would survive unharmed. Num 5:12-31

In the land of Israel, when a prophecy was made, or a law of God was read,"All the people said, “Amen”" (Neh 5:13, 8:6)  Several books of Psalms end with Amen (Psa 41:13, Psa 72:19, Psa 89:52) and most books of the New testament. The Lord’s example prayer ends with “Amen” (Matthew 6:13). Amen was also used to represent God's promise - "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through Him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. (2 Corinthians 1:20).  Paul uses the word seven times in his letter to the Romans (Rom 1:25, Rom 9:5, Rom 11:36, Rom 15:33, Rom 16:20,24,27) and he suggests that people end prayer with its use  (1Cor 14:16) and lastly it is Used in the last verses of the Bible (Rev 22:20-21).

When we say Amen, we are literally saying... "Yes, I know that to be true", "So Be it in the sight of God", "Verily, it is true and so be it!" “Amen” is an affirmation of truth,  a special word that we can use whenever we say or hear something that is true before God.

"For as many as may be the promises of God, in him they are 'yes' and in him 'Amen'" (2Co 1:20).

Heavenly Father, Author of Truth and Chief Justice of the Universe and this entire world; we honor and praise You. We constantly seek to know You more and more. We acknowledge You and Your sovereign Truth, we speak with faith and in respect when we use the word Amen and we recognize Your omniscient observance of us and all that we think, say and do. Help us Lord to invoke your assistance with the greatest of intent and the rightful amount of respect that is befitting. We seek pardon for those who know You not and have yet to seek you, may you open their eyes and their hearts before time runs out. Help us Father, to be the guardians of the Word, to protect it and to serve it in the spirit of Love, effectually and effectively. Amen, so be it Lord, that all shall proclaim your Majesty and every tongue shall confess your name. We carry out your commands and patiently await your return! May we all be found acceptable in Your sight! We ask this in the name of Yeshua Jesus, the Holy One, Our Lord and Christ Savior ~ AMEN!
