MONDAY MORNING MESSAGE For The Eternal Body Of Christ 6-20-11

Goood Morninnnnnnnnnnng!

The Spirit has led me back in time to re-introduce a word on having and maintaining a relationship with God. Below is a segment I had written sometime ago. In respect and reverence to Fathers and Father's day, does not our Father in Heaven deserve such accolades, such admiration? How can we truly show God How much we love him? How does a child honor their parents? Surely it is in Obedience and in Surrender to their will, their rules and their precepts!

Luke 10:27 says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind…love your neighbor as yourself."

James 4:6-10
New King James Version (NKJV)
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

      “ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”[a]
Humility Cures Worldliness

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, youdouble-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

God highlighted this word "submit" and I remember the word "surrender". God wants us to know him enough that we might submit & surrender but the average heart and mind sees these two words in an unsavory manner. The worlds version of surrender is rather unappealing; after all who wants to give up, forfeit, give in and pipe down? Not me, not you, we all think of this as some sort of defeat. It carries the connotation of weakness, inability or lack of where with all.

In actuality, surrender and submission to God is a very necessary and vital part of a relationship with Him. Without it we are separate from his supply. Just like the check is in the mail, until the receiver is in acknowledgment of the transaction no progress can made.

This is an act of trust, it requires faith and it leads to greater ability. Once you begin to surrender and submit you begin to realize it's not that ugly word called weakness or laziness. Far from that it's the beginning of the outward and upward call in Christ Jesus. Many a strong characters in the Bible were fully surrendered and they remain historically viewed as great warriors for the kingdom. We have, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, David, Job, Peter and a host of others. Strong, powerful, formidable men of God who indeed surrendered their will for God's...they turned over their failing desires and weaknesses for the strength of God. When we stop trying to do it our way we begin to see the true way, it's through the act of surrender to submission.

Its often the catalyst to immense change; having exhausted all other possibilities. How loving and wonderful is our God like a faithful Father who says, "Are you done now?....May I show you the correct way before you hurt yourself?"....God knows we are stubborn, headstrong, disobedient...so the submission and the surrender becomes equivalent to putting yourself into alignment with more than you can fathom or imagine. It takes real strength and courage to resist the world and to accept the calling.

Heavenly Father, author and finisher of our faith. Allow us to see in part the magnificent plans you hold for us, help us to trust our entire existence; thoughts, deeds, actions and reactions to your guiding influence. Lead us to still waters where we may see the reflection of your deep love for us and fortify our resolve to become closer to you, therefore embarking upon the life that you intended for us from the beginning of all creation. We praise you Father and we surrender to you moment by moment, impulse by impulse...taking up your ways and instruction while praising your Holy Name. AMEN!

Even though this poem (see below) was written for my Earthly Father who passed away whn I was just 12...I would like to dedicate it also to my Heavenly Father who knew me before all things were ever created. Thank you Abba Pappa, I know you, I love you and I follow you...thank you for always preparing my way!
