The Place of Power 1/4/16

There is a pervasive threat that goes unaddressed, it's more insidious than covered contamination, deadlier than toxic spillage, more lethal than accidental ingestion. It's facing the enemy without proper protection. Many aren't even aware that they are doing this. Some aren't aware that the enemy exists and others fail to see the true enemy because he hides behind the manipulations and effects that he causes in those who are weak and unprotected.

The cheating spouse, the criminal, the drug addict, the thief, the hostile belligerent individual. There are many of them, they come in all forms, all situations and conflicts. Essentially, though they are all victims of this same enemy. They are decoys. Affected by the enemy and used to be effective pawns.

That's where the Spirit of the Lord and His wisdom tears down the facade, the charade begins to unravel and the enemy quakes in his boots. The scriptures, the very word of God and His promises to us, carefully exhort us on how to safe guard our hearts, homes and health. Everything that is important to us and more importantly, everyone that is important to us. This is what the enemy hopes we won't turn to. AS long as he can keep you fighting each other, the true source (which is him) is never dealt with.

Most people have no problem wanting to protect their friends and family, maybe even a few benevolent strangers. But how do you feel about your enemies?! What makes you think they are your enemies?! They aren't. They are human, flesh and blood, stained sinners (just as you and I are) all falling under the same category. Some are saved and some are not. How much more so should the saved be aware of their blessings, their grace?! We ought to be praying for them, recognizing that these ones, are the byproduct of the enemies interference. Many of whom stand in the face of great peril.

Want to move mountains, command the storms, influence the outcome?! Get out of the way. Your greatest ammunition does not come from your own stock pile. It comes from a heavenly dispensation that isn't initiated until you forfeit your position and allow God to step in. He is our Battle Chief, commander and sovereign reigning authority.

If you didn't know it by now, this entire message was inspired by the movie, "The War Room", but the movie was inspired by everyday life, the battle, the casualties, the lessons and the plan for victory. I highly suggest that if you have not seen it that you quickly do so.

You wouldn't swim in a tainted lake, drink poison or drive over a sabotaged bridge...so why face another minute of this most precious life, living in dangerous ignorance?! Pray or pay! When we pray, as submitted, repentant believers, we fall under the margin of Jesus having paid the price for us. When we choose not to, we assume the burden that we can never make good on, no good will ever come from that.

Find your quiet place, a room, a closet, a box...dedicate this as your place to commune with your commander and chief, The Lord. This is your Place of Power. This is where you escape to let out your frustrations, get encouragement, seek reminders, to meditate & pray. You will not regret having done this, merely regret waiting so long to have done so.

Have a Blessed week. I know you will!

Psalm 91King James Version (KJV)

91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Psalm 138:7  Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.

2Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

1John 5:19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.

1Peter 2:9  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Isaiah 54:17   no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication from me, declares the LORD.”

Psalm 46:1  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 91:1-3   He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”  For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

Psalm 121:7-8   The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. 8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
