Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Baptism is the invocation/invitation to receiving the Holy Spirit, transforming the old wine skins, us, the vessels, to receive the new wine! The Ruach Hakkodesh, the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
John “the Baptist” – practiced water baptism as an obedient servant under God’s ordination, it is a symbolic event signifying a person’s repentance from sin, surrendering their lives to God in full and total obedience.
Most Catholics baptize their babies, as they themselves had been; but it is the full, cognizant baptism in spirit, law and heart, as Born-Again to Christ, that I am speaking of. The biblical baptism is in full immersion, under water; just as the disciples did, just as Jesus did. John the Baptist baptized everyone in the Jordan River, including Jesus Himself. Everyone was completely immersed under the water as a symbol of death to the old life, as a symbol of a new life in Christ, emerge as washed anew.
Matthew 28:18-19 “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”
If you have fully accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord and have never been water baptized (by full immersion), it’s time! I have been receiving this word and many confirmations regarding it. In and of itself it is an outward observance but it is indicative of the inner observance. After all, water is necessary for soup too, but not sufficient!
Arrange for water baptism as soon as you can and wherever it is possible, a pool, a lake, a church baptismal chamber; the important aspect is full immersion and naturally, a contrite heart seeking to praise, worship, serve and be obedient to God!
God wants us to honor His word, He wants us to be thorough, to follow through, to be genuine in our pursuit.
It came to my attention that we are today, this April 23rd, 21012 about 16 days into the observance of "Counting the Omer." We are to count 7 weeks (49 days) from First Fruits (Yahushua's resurrection) and the following day is YHWH's Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). Pentecost means, "the fiftieth day." _ Posted by Tricia A.
Shavuot (Pentecost) is seen as the conclusion to the Passover (Pesach) season
the requirements were
- To appear before Yahweh and in a worthy manner - in bringing a freewill offering
- To rejoice before Yahweh
- To remember deliverance from slavery
It would be fitting and beneficent to observe these remaining days, by seeking God’s confirmations on this matter. It is a perfect way to culminate this preparatory season by being baptised.
