THE STAGES OF LIFE; do you know the Set master???
There is this one commercial which I always seem to catch lately, it's for the Broadway Play, "Mary Poppins". Repeatedly now, I have heard this one lady say, "Even for me a jaded New Yorker..." she says this to help emphasize how mesmerized she is at the grandeur, at how easy it is to forget that you are sitting in a theatre and watching this all transpire seamlessly on a stage.
Life is exactly like this, all of life is a stage. We, the cast, are constantly transitioning from on stage to off stage but all the while the play goes on. Who's in wardrobe, makeup, back stage getting ready to be born or finished with their very last line and its curtain calls for that soul.
God is the total source for all that is made, all that is seen and all that goes into the entire production Colossians 1:15-17. We, the players; audience, participants, set crews, designers, etc., we trade roles and switch places all the day long. One minute we are in the seat watching and next minute we are on stage. It is so easy to forget and loose track. The scripts that some are going by have been tampered with and their few minutes of fame become infamy. The rest of us, practice and practice to get it right; we have a go at it and with Gods help, we do alright. Others, choose to improv and usually don't have much direction or much remembrance for their bodies of work.
Yes, the evil one is present also and he is the villain. He is the fly in the ointment and a very menacing aspect of this ongoing production which is dealt with to some degree during every performance. The silly wretch is so swept up in his self induced illusion he actually thinks that he is something or has a chance. Sure, he may get an occasional laugh or deceptively gain a few followers along the way but he and them will not be happy with their credits when it's time to roll. The beautiful part is that God, the Ultimate Director and Set master knows how the end plays out, the end truly is the end, it will be curtains for the evil one!

The main point is that the children of God are all under His careful guidance and tutelage; we are kept up to date of the workings of this overall Grand Production by way of the Holy Spirit in our ear; conducting and shifting us to where God needs us to be. (Isaiah 48:6-7) This place here is not our home (strangers in a foreign land) the so called stages of life, which on this earth are from Birth to Death. God is the only constant that remains with us throughout it all, never missing a beat (Ephesians 4:6). We are so distracted by the changes, the motions and notions... that we can and usually do forget; swept up in the plot, the play and the people.
Have faith in Him, God is the ultimate set master; what is your script calling for? Is it a wardrobe change you need, a rewrite in the script? The story line is always changing and God's ultimate pleasure and joy is that you'll discover Him and turn to Him for direction AND ALL OF YOUR NEEDS. (Philippians 4:19) & (2 Corinthians 9:8 )
Thank you Lord for letting us, your children recognize you behind the veil, a peak behind the curtain in the stages of life!
Heavenly Father we thank you and praise you for the opportunities you give us each day to discover your goodness toward us. You are so patient and loving, supplying all of our needs and placing everything before us in hopes that we will learn, grow and achieve all that which you intended for us. Father, as the world around us seems to be changing quickly and events seems to be unfolding swiftly for the majority; we ask that you place an unmistakable peace within our spirits that will sustain us in the moments in betwixt. That we shall not grow weary nor shall we forget that you are always with us, ready to supply all of our needs and faithful to guide us to safety. We draw closer to you Lord and in so doing we become more in tune and attuned to your direction, the source of our Lives and the Hope of our future in Christ Our Lord AMEN!
