Life more abundant 1-30-17

Picture 281Widow at Zerphath

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things shall be added unto you….Matthew 6:33
How many of us are in the position of great need? Provision from the Lord is life and Life more abundantly! How do we recognize when we need the supernatural attention of God in the areas of our life where we are lacking? When you have run around in circles, exhausted every avenue? What happens when we get to the point of overwhelm, desperation? Is it finally then when we cry out, call out to God? Yes, usually this is the case.  God wants to assure us that He is capable, especially when we are not. He wants to be the the first responder in our emergency and He wants us to be aware that He is where all blessings flow from.! Thank You Lord for my need and thank You for meeting it, exceeding it!
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
How do we usher in the provision of God? We usher it in through faith, obedience, praise, prayer and surrender.
There is one lesson in the bible that comes to mind;
1 Kings 17:7-16 the accounting of the Widow of Zeraphath during the time of drought in the region of Sidon at that time…

  • The widow of Zeraphath represents those of us who are in a position of need.
  • The Oil represents the anointing
  • The bread is sustenance. The Lord is the bread of life.
She was promised that the jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil would not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain upon the land; this speaks to us about the drought times in life.  I also suppose that at this point, faced with her meager leftovers, that a portion of it gone would not be much different than the end result. It is this very act that transitions from personal hardship to above and beyond her own circle. She trusted and put faith in that word, she went and did as the prophet said; trusting in the word sent to her by God. We need to step up in faith, giving to the Lord that trust; it is the Tithe of Belief (give Him credit as the one who can and the one who will) Believe to receive!
Paul writes that “if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.” (Galatians 3:29 )
My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
Psalm 77:14 “You are the God who performs miracles; You display your power among the peoples.”
We need to come into Unity with His word, through strong faith, deep need, total praise and thankfulness. A release within the release, a friend recently mentioned to me. This speaks to me on so many levels. We have to let our abilities and striving take the backseat when it comes time to let God drive us over that finish line. Release your trust, release your praise and worship toward the Lord, recognize this as the only effective action you can take… motions will resume but this time fueled with the knowledge that God can put the High in your octane, accelerating the onset of every need being met; personal, financial and situational.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the times of great need that you have placed me in. I can see how great and merciful you are as in times past when my need exceeded my ability and then you rushed in to comfort and sustain me. I pray that I shall always remain just as sure of You no matter what life may present to me. I have been high and I have been low but I fully know that you are here with me, wherever I may go! I promise to you this day, with the greatest of ease because I know You are unfailing…that I shall always trust in You. Trust, faith and assurity; when they are turned over to you, are the begins of great things. Thank you Lord for the trials of life, through which You have shown me How truly amazing You are. Thank You for using those situations to bring me great blessings for they also strengthened me that I might help others. I am grateful for the position I have with You; your beloved child, forever indebted, blissfully happy and secured for all eternity! In the Mighty name of Yehushua, Our Lord and Savior AMEN

Be humble, pray and seek His face… 1/23/17

0011

2 Chronicles 7:14

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

As believers who are called into obedience with humility, we are to refrain from following the crowd, from becoming part of a movement or a resistance, unless the established authority is imposing something  that is contrary to Gods laws and mandates. On a whole we are not entangled nor threatened by the masses or their agenda.

Rom 13:1-14 Paul instructs you in your obligations as an earthly and heavenly citizen.1

1. Submit To Government Rom13:1-72

God is glorified and His will is fulfilled when you submit to His governing authorities. In 13:1a Paul writes: “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing3 authorities.”4 The command begins with the words, “Every person” (pasa psuche lit. “every soul”).5 This includes believers and unbelievers, rich and poor, great and small, without exception.6 But Paul’s primary concern is that believers “submit” to governing authorities. The verb “submit” (hupotasso)7 means “to place oneself under.”8 After reading this blanket command, some look for exceptions. However, here Paul provides the general rule, not the exceptions. Of course, there are at least three areas in which a Christian should resist authority: (1) If he or she is asked to violate a command of God.9 (2) If he or she is asked to commit an immoral or unethical act. (3) If he or she is asked to go against his/her conscience.10 But when a believer resists authority he/she must be willing to accept the consequences (see 13:2). Submission is never easy and frequently there are grave ethical dilemmas.11

We are also called to pray…

1 Timothy 2:1-2, KJV

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty”

What God wants from us to be that contrast, showing the world by example.  How do we do that? For starters we allow God to shape and mold us, through His word.

Ephesians 4:24

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created

in righteousness and true holiness.

It’s truly sad when you see these people in self destruct mode under the guise of a cause. What is worse is the hypocricy, for the things that they claim are an insult or an imposition upon them is nothing in comparison to their actions, words  and deeds. Like children throwing an ill tempered tantrum they revolt. They are fighting and arguing for their sins. They refuse to be held accountable for their actions, they want a carte blanche ticket to behave badly.

Truthfully, there is a difference between priveledge and liberty. One thing is for sure, both were provided under the umbrella of sacrifice from those who gave their lives to provided it. Respect, reverence, and justice should be paid to the purpose of  human rights not for the exploitation.

priv·i·ege
ˈpriv(ə)lij/
noun
1.
a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group of people.

lib·er·ty
ˈlibərdē/
noun
1.
the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views.

Heavenly Father we pray for our Country, our new leader and for all of the new administration that will be inlfluencing changes in every facet of our lives. We pray a hedge of protection over ourselves and over the,. We also pray for the misguided masses that justified in their actions. Lord, we ask that you enlighten them to their behaviors. Touch these people in their consciences and in their spirit to serve You and to utilize that energy toward positive advancement,  In Jesus Mighty name we pray AMEN.

PUSH =Pray Until Something Happens

I just love that little acronym, I didn’t invent it but I am reminded of it, especially when I read that passage about the widow and the unscrupulous judge.

Luke 18: 1-8

18 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

In the case of the widow and the judge, she wasn’t praying but she was petitioning. She knew that this judge had the power to grant her request and therefore she had confidence that if she could just get him to agree to hear her plight, that the solution would be granted.

Therefore, I propose a question, how much more confidence should we have in God?  He is omniscient and takes into account everything that we can not know or see and does so with an eye toward our advantage. So we see this passage as an incentive. We have the best and most judicious judge available, to hear our requests and to answer our petitions. The widow had enough sense to know that she needed to push through. She wasn’t about to give up, she was about getting the judge to acknowledge her.

Read this excerpt from Matthew Henrys Commentary on this passage Luke 18:1-8:

He applies this for the encouragement of God’s praying people to pray with faith and fervency, and to persevere therein.1. He assures them that God will at length be gracious to them (v. 6): Hear what the unjust judge saith, how he owns himself quite overcome by a constant importunity, and shall not God avenge his own elect? Observe,(1.) What it is that they desire and expect: that God would avenge his own elect. Note, [1.] There are a people in the world that are God’s people, his elect, his own elect, a choice people, a chosen people. And this he has an eye to in all he does for them; it is because they are his chosen, and in pursuance of the choice he has made of them. [2.] God’s own elect meet with a great deal of trouble and opposition in this world; there are many adversaries that fight against them; Satan is their great adversary. [3.] That which is wanted and waited for is God’s preserving and protecting them, and the work of his hands in them; his securing the interest of the church in the world and his grace in the heart.(2.) What it is that is required of God’s people in order to the obtaining of this: they must cry day and night to him; not that he needs their remonstrances, or can be moved by their pleadings, but this he has made their duty, and to this he has promised mercy. We ought to be particular in praying against our spiritual enemies, as St. Paul was: For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me; like this importunate widow. Lord, mortify this corruption. Lord, arm me against this temptation. We ought to concern ourselves for the persecuted and oppressed churches, and to pray that God would do them justice, and set them in safety. And herein we must be very urgent; we must cry with earnestness: we must cry day and night, as those that believe prayer will be heard at last; we must wrestle with God, as those that know how to value the blessing, and will have no nay. God’s praying people are told to give him no rest, Isa. 62:6, Isa. 62:7

Isaiah 62:6-7

I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,

And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Deuteronomy 10:18

He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

So, we need to pray until something happens. PUSH. Pray with confidence knowing that our God is a good and just God, an advocate who promises to attend to us. We have no better representation than our Lord, no greater friend and sovereign God who can not fail us. He has an advantage above judicious system of this world in that He sees every fact, including the hidden.

Let’s pray!  Lord, we thank You for the gift of discernment and wisdom that You lead us to, contained in Your word. Help us to maintain our confidence and faith in You. Remind us to pray for our adversaries as we seek justice for the wrongs committed against us. Avenge us, as we know You will. We thank You Lord for Your faithfulness, In Jesus Mighty name AMEN!
