Not Selfish, just be RESULTISH!

You are No good to anyone if you can not first be good to yourself. Now is where the definition of Good comes into focus. What is good for some may be considered NOT GOOD. Especially in this day & age, we are warned that good is being deemed evil and evil is being misconstrued as somehow being OK or acceptable.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Let's put it in a different light. Perceive yourself, your emotions, your burdens and your liberation from the vantage of point of Christ. He bore our burdens and instructed us to worry and fret not. (Matthew 6;25) He advised us that our emotions can not always be trusted**. They are to be used as a barometer, if it feels bad, stay away from it, in physicality as well as spirituality. There is no need to embrace the hot stove, that's what we have senses for. If for some reason you get too close to the hot stove of doubt, guilt, shame, etc., move away from it, in thought and proximity.

Focus and intensity play a great part in our daily lives. If we neglect to focus on where we are driving to, we could get sidetracked or miss our turn. If intensity is a problem, the minor things in life can serve to set you off like a cannon or volcano. Temperance is necessary, we need to be sensitive to our surroundings and that input, the reactions that the temporal is serving us BUT we are not to be controlled by it. His word says DO NOT BE MOVED!  See scriptures below that illustrate why we are not to solely trust our emotions.

Your first priority in life is YOU and YOUR Relationship with the Almighty. In order to be in good standing there, it requires open communication, time together and a deep understanding of what is expected, allowed and acceptable.

Expect all of Gods good for your life! This should lead to happiness and obedience.
Allow for all of Gods good in your life! This should result in confidence and hope.
Accept all of Gods good for your life. This should result in peace and provision.

Never speak defeat over your life, your circumstances or events. They are only temporary appearances based on several misaligned factors. Trust the word of God and deny those things that do not line up. When I say deny I mean avoid, ignore, become creative in describing them if you must but strip them of their destructive power BY de-fueling them!

Here are two examples of the same event, one explanation is reality based and the other explanation is transformation based.

1. Every time I turn on the news, I see things that scare and disturb me. It causes such anxiety, the images and sounds can stick with me all day and it makes me not want to go anywhere or do anything. How can I be happy when so many people all around the world are suffering such extreme conditions?! What if something like that happens here?

2. I have learned that I can extract the information I truly need from a few select & trusted sources. I avoid exposing myself to unfiltered causal platforms, designed to provoke the viewer. I consult God before every execution of every plan, I go out in peace and I return under the same blanket of safety His love provides. Even if things change as I am out and about, God is with me and foreknows every turn. I live carefree and waste no time rehearsing bad things. I fully expect to meet every good blessing that I have focused on and have prepared for.  I can not help someone who is scared by becoming fearful. I can not help someone who is hungry by becoming malnourished. I can not help someone who is being persecuted by abandoning my faith. I can not help someone who is being wrongfully treated by self- deprecating. My best contribution is to LOVE God and myself to the best of my ability and show others how to do the same.

**Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
**Proverbs 28:26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But whoever walks wisely will be delivered.

All You Could Ask For 11/10/14

It's customary for a parent or caretaker to set up & prepare a schedule for their child on how things are to unfold, whether it be school or activities, day to day concerns for nutrition, clothing, entertainment and all of the necessities involved.

Is God, as our parent, any less concerned or prepared for our welfare? He has parlayed a vast amount of information to instruct us as well as every resource available and accessible to assist us.

WE are instructed to come to the Lord as little children.... most parents bend over backwards to make sure that their child can lay their head on their pillow at night, care free. Mark 11:24 says that "whatever things we desire we should believe that we receive them (ask for them in prayer believing) and they are ours." Scripture also says, "all things work together for the good of those who love and serve the Lord" Romans 8:28 this leaves us to only conclude that yes, sometimes things don't immediately appear or may seem contrary, so we have to extrapolate and figure out how to deal with the situations and what our attitude should be.

Wen we meet a challenge or an unpleasant circumstance, it is most assuredly one of these scenarios:

1. The enemy thwarted or blocked something that was being sent for our advantage
(example the angel Gabriel that was restrained by the prince of Persia. (Daniel 10: 13-20)
2. The situation didn't unfold as we thought it should, but God in His divine Omniscience knows the overall outcome and chose the best possible set up for a future blessing versus temporary or fleeting satisfaction.

Given the knowledge, the understanding and the Nature of the Loving Father, we can safely conclude
that we, as His children are understood, cared for, provided for, acknowledged, accounted for and deeply loved! So its our job, to simply be at ease, Loving and Trusting Him. Its our instruction by Him to remain confident and full of joy! Scripture tells us to be happy and content all the time, No matter what the external conditions. This isn't meant to be an irritation or some out of reach (doesn't apply to me or you, kind of response) It's meant to be a reminder to you, when those moments arrive, on How to shrug them off. How you can properly move out of the position of desolate, destitute or despair as quickly as possible. This faith and courage we are summoned to harness will serve us, for He is able and shall never suffer us to "slip" Psalm 121:3  in His name we shall not be "ashamed" psalm 34:5

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. -- Psalm 25:2, 3
...Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
-- I Peter 2:6
All of Psalm 31, but particularly:
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.
Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee....
-- Psalm 31:1, 14, 17
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
-- Psalm 34:22
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
-- Psalm 71:1
Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
-- Psalm 119:116
Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
-- Psalm 22:4, 5
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
-- Psalm 34:5
For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Not just when you sneeze 11/3/14

As cold and flu season seems to be upon us, I was inspired to highlight this common practice. It is customary and widely accepted to say, "God Bless you" when someone sneezes. This was adopted theoretically at some point during the 1st 100 years after Christ's death, at a point in History when the bubonic plague was running amuck. The benediction was thought to ward of or shield one from illness and evil.

In some cultures, sneezing is seen as a sign of good fortune or God's beneficence.[9][13] As such, alternative responses to sneezing sometimes adopted by English speakers are the German word Gesundheit (meaning "health"), the Irish word sláinte (meaning "good health"), and the Spanish salud (also meaning "health"). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_bless_you
Does this need to relegated to just when we sneeze?! I feel quite comfortable in blessing others all through out the day. If no one will offer you this statement of blessing, you can invoke it yourself. "God Bless me!"  He does and He will. He is the author and finisher of our faith, true to His word, magnificent, merciful & masterful.

Try it out, say the words, "God Bless me" once an hour all day long and see how you feel by the end of the day, end of the week, end of the month. It's common for us to excuse ourselves, for unfortunate happenstances such as a burp or a cough, why shouldn't we ask God to Bless to us. He is faithful to answer our request, it is just us who neglect to invoke the goodness!

This is an added layer of protection and grace available to us all, Let us embrace it and utilize it as often as possible. The effort is minimal but the benefits are great!

Have a BLESSED week, & may GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU IN CHRIST JESUS!
Numbers 6:24 The LORD bless you, and keep you:
Deuteronomy 15:6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

Psalm 67

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm. A song.

May God be gracious to us and bless us
and make his face shine on us—[b]
so that your ways may be known on earth,
    your salvation among all nations.
May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
May the nations be glad and sing for joy,
for you rule the peoples with equity
and guide the nations of the earth.
May the peoples praise you, God;
may all the peoples praise you.
The land yields its harvest;
    God, our God, blesses us.
May God bless us still,
so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.
